AuroPro combines local school records with optional external services. This overview describes desktop v7.2.4. The Android Hubs pilot adds local school-network access through a compatible desktop service. Confirm the complete setup before deployment.
The Windows application uses a local SQLite database, with supporting photos and receipt assets. Installed school data is stored separately from the program. Core desktop workflows run on the school computer.
Protect the Windows account, device, data folder, and exports. Application permissions do not prevent someone with direct file access from inspecting the database.
Master, Administrator, Accountant, and Teacher roles control application responsibilities. Teacher grants specify class, stream, responsibility, year, and term, with expiry and revocation options.
Review access when staff responsibilities change and at the start of each academic period. Open-screen information is not remotely erased when a grant changes.
Guardian phone numbers are stored with student records. Sending SMS shares the destination number and message with the chosen provider; payment texts can include the student name, amount, receipt reference, and bill balance.
Provider API connections use HTTPS. Ordinary SMS delivery is not end-to-end encrypted. Select message content carefully and confirm recipient details.
Local backup archives use password-based encryption and include the database, photos, and receipt assets. Automatic online backup stores its passphrase protected for the current Windows account. Keep a separate recovery password.
Google Drive uploads place encrypted copies in the connected account. SMS credentials use Windows account protection; Google authorisation files are kept in local application data. Protect access to that account and its files.
The pilot sends authorised requests over HTTPS between phones and the school’s Windows service on the same trusted Wi-Fi network. Setup includes checking the school certificate fingerprint. Phones do not connect directly to the SQLite database.
Student and parent access requires explicit student-account links. Teachers access assigned records and concerns; the Master complaint queue contains explicitly escalated items. Google Drive backup is separate and does not synchronise a live database across devices.
Reports, receipts, printed documents, and backup copies can contain school and personal information. Limit access, choose retention periods, and store or dispose of copies appropriately.
